For the month of October, I’m holding a Halloween Flash Fiction Contest.
So break out your short stories and post em up.
The contest will run from (the time I posted this) approximately 12:00am September 29, 2011 until October 21, 2011 at 12:01am eastern standard time (that’s New York Time in case you didn’t know).
I don’t care what you write about as long as it’s Halloween themed. So monsters, ghosts, goblins, vampires (of any type), zombies, serial killers, werewolves, spiders and other creepy crawlies. Also traditional horror stories are okay. The max word count is 1000 as determined by Microsoft word and LibreOffice. (I will check 2 different programs to determine the word count to be fair). The minimum word count is 500 (to be checked in the above manner). Any above or below the requirement is okay.
Please don’t use previously published short stories you can rewrite and revamp something if you really want to but I’d rather not. The story must be in English to be considered. Also, the winner must respond to the post proclaiming their win within 48 hours (I will proclaim a winner Monday, October 24th on or before 12:00 noon.) If the winner does not respond to that post by October 26th 12:00 noon, I will announce the runner up and they have 24 hours to respond. So I would suggest that all that enter follow this blog via email to ensure that they are notified.
The winner is based purely on my personal taste and how your writing went with the spirit of the contest.
Your short story will be the main post on the blog on October 31, 2011 with a link back to your blog.
